FACULTY: PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELORS
Our Professional School Counselors assist students and parents with a variety of issues and concerns. Their invaluable service to our school can be seen in many ways.
A very important part of the guidance program is to work with students individually and in small groups as well as facilitation of classroom guidance activities. These activities are related to academic guidance and personal/social counseling. The activities and functions of the guidance department are designed to promote academic achievement, educational and career planning, and development of positive attitudes. The guidance department also focuses on teaching those skills students need for assisting in maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
Here at Huntington, we have one counselor assigned to support each grade level. Plus, we employ one additional person (Student Support Specialist) who serves as a liaison or omnibudsman between student issues and classroom activities.
If you need to call upon them for any assistance, please call (757) 928-6846 or e-mail our counselors.
